A huge part of our business at apple hr support is helping companies effectively support and deal with the mental health of all employees. Employee mental health and wellbeing should be at the forefront of any business leadership and should be treated in exactly the same way as physical health.

Listed below are some of our favourite mental health resources which give great information and advice on how you can improve the mental health of your employees.

  1. Mental Health First Aid Training – At apple hr support, we offer training for your employees to become mental health first aiders. Your staff will learn to spot warning signs, support people with on-going problems and help a colleague going through a crisis.
  2. MentalHealth.org – This is a great website aiming to raise awareness and give advice on mental health. They have blogs, events and projects which could be of interest to you in your business.
  3. Liggy Webb Books – Liggy Webb is an award winning author and international consultant specialising in life skills. She has written books covering many topics related to wellbeing such as Mental Health, Kindness, Burnout, Resilience, Positive Mindset just to name a few. These could be a great addition to the coffee table in your workplace, something you can send to your teams whilst working from home or even just to help you understand what others are going through.
  4. It’s not ok to feel blue and other lies, Scarlett Curtis – This is a collection of 60+ people’s powerful, funny and moving stories of ‘What does your mental health mean to you?’. Sometimes it is just nice to know that other people feel the same way that you do and you are not alone.
  5. The Happiness Index – This is technology which provides your staff with employee engagement surveys and feedback solutions and analyses results to provide insight into how your employees are feeling. This helps identify improvement opportunities to boost employee engagement and productivity.
  6. Mental Health and Wellbeing Webinars – If you feel that your whole team would benefit from learning a bit more about mental health and how to deal with it then a course of our wellbeing webinars could be just what you need to boost kindness, productivity and morale in your company.  Get in touch to find out more
  7. Mentally Yours Podcast – This podcast is hosted by Ellen Scott and Yvette Caster and covers a wide range of topics including mental health. If you are looking for information on a specific topic, their episodes are helpfully titled and the focus of the most recent episodes has been wellbeing during the pandemic and can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.Mental Health Awareness Resources - Mentally Yours Podcast
  8. Mind.org.uk – The mental health charity mind has hundreds of resources on their website to help improve mental health. A helpline, blogs, and lots of other information are all available here as well as opportunities to fundraise and volunteer to help others combat their mental health issues.
  9. Wellbeing ‘Lunch and Learn’ Workshops – This is another service from apple hr support. You invite your staff to an informal meeting where we talk about mental health and wellbeing and answer any questions that employees have about their own or others’ wellbeing.
  10. The Mighty Blogs – Publish real stories about a range of mental illnesses and have built a safe platform for their community to share their stories, connect with others and raise awareness for mental health. themighty.com
